All anyone can talk about these days, foodie-wise, is blueberries. That plump, juicy best-of-summer taste makes everything a little sweeter. Whether you’re whipping up pies or mixing mojitos, blueberries get along great in every recipe.

To celebrate the blube, Evergreen Brickworks (550 Bayview Ave.) are hosting their 3rd Annual Wild Blueberry Festival on Saturday, August 11th from 8 am to 3 pm. This is a great community event, and the last time we went we ran into friends, their parents, their puppies, and more.

There are tons of different events happening all over the Brickworks, so you can choose how to get your blueberry fix. Browse the farmer’s market for blueberry goodies, eat blueberry pancakes on the patio at Café Belong, take a baking, dyeing or preserving workshop, and best of all, vote in the people’s choice awards or size up the goods at the pie bake off, where celebrity judges rate some seriously amazing looking pies, and then observers get to eat ’em!
