Our favourite bespoke bat company was at it again last week. Garrison Creek Bat Company hosted their 2014 Season Opener party at Steamwhistle Brewery and we were there, munching on cute widdle mini hot dogs, slurping on some Steamwhistle beer and oohing & ahhing over all the beautiful handmade bats.
Local artists used carving, sculpture, printing making, painting, and various other media to produce stunning one-of-a-kind creations, all using a wooden baseball bat as their base. Rachelle Latain, Matthew Sewerynek, Nomi Chi, Pearl Harbor Gift Shop and Dominique Fung were some of the artists on the roster. There was even a bat signed by Blue Jays alum Roberto Alomar up for auction! All proceeds from the raffle are being donated to Jays Care.
