This Friday, August 17th at noon, supporters of Russian punk band Pussy Riot can gather outside the Russian Consulate to express their outrage at the arrest of the three women. Organized by former Bay Street equity researcher-turned-social media manager Lynn Flatley, this will be a peaceful protest.
Charged with hooliganism after performing a “punk prayer” in a cathedral in February, members of the international community are seeing their arrest as an affront to free speech. Pussy Riot have become symbols of feminism and artistic freedom, gaining celebrity support. Be a part of Global Pussy Riot Day and stand in solidarity with the world as they express their outrage at the treatment of these women.
