The Word on the Street, Canada’s largest book and magazine festival, returns to Queen’s Park this weekend, September 28-29! With more than 100 Canadian and Indigenous authors scheduled to attend this free community festival, readers and writers across the city will come together to celebrate their love of literature.
With a lineup of engaging author talks, panel discussions and interactive workshops, visitors can check out events across four streams of programming at the festival: Contemporary, Across the Universe, Vibrant Voices of Ontario and Kids Literature. Hear from the 5 finalists of the Toronto Book Awards, tune in to spotlights on horror, romance, and speculative fiction, take in poetry performances, meet magazine makers, and so much more—the full event lineup is here!
Another highlight of The Word on the Street is the vibrant book marketplace. If you’re inspired to pick up a new title, stroll through this outdoor market featuring 100+ vendors, including book and magazine publishers, retailers, and arts organizations.
“It has never been more important to show up to the festivals and events that you hope to see continue,” said Sienna Tristen, Director of Programming for The Word On The Street Toronto. “Come spend the weekend with your fellow book lovers–revel in reading with us!”
