With warming temps this week, that maple sap is starting to flow. Next Saturday, March 23, bring the kids to Black Creek Community Farm to learn how REAL maple syrup is made, and enjoy some pancakes while you’re at it!
This fun self-guided tour includes tree identification, tree tapping, sap boiling, Indigenous maple syrup techniques, taffy making, and kids’ activities. Vegan and gluten-free pancakes by Chic Peas Veg will also be available to buy. This is a great way to spend the day outdoors while learning something new about our very own liquid gold.
Black Creek Community Farm is located at 4929 Jane St. No on-site parking is available, but there is free parking at the Pioneer Village subway station (a fifteen-minute walk away), OR there is paid parking at the Black Creek Pioneer Village (the walk is twelve minutes). For transit users, the farm is on the Jane bus route, OR a fifteen-minute walk from the Pioneer Village Subway station, OR you can take a bus from the Pioneer Village Subway station right to their door.
