On April 12th from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., watch as over 200 young inventors showcase their innovative solutions to everyday problems. Head to the Invention Convention at the MaRS Discovery District (101 College St).
Budding student inventors from Grades 7 and 8 will exhibit their creations, designed to solve problems or satisfy a previously under-served market niche. You’re invited to walk around the venue to explore the interactive exhibits and speak with students about their clever inventions, including
- A student locker shoe dryer, where students can dry their gym shoes in their lockers after gym class.
- A binder that solves all students’ needs. It includes a plush washable pillow, a cell phone charger, and an organizational toolkit, all in one zip-up binder.
- A Shakin’ Warmer for people who like to have their food warmed up on the spot. They can carry their food in a container that has reusable heat pads to raise the temperature of the food by shaking.
- Veaters: a strapped desk to put your feet on to enable good posture/ergonomics.
The Invention Conventions is the culmination of The Learning Partnership’s Investigate! Invent! Innovate!, a free and experiential learning program that integrates science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) skills.
