Much VJ Sarah Taylor is hosting her third Fête à la Tête for SickKids next Thursday, October 15th at 7pm, this time with a boudoir feel, at Ossington’s Jezebel Burlesque Club (227 Ossington Ave.). All proceeds will go to the Division of Neurosurgery at the Hospital for Sick Children, with donations accepted at the door.
The Fête à la Tête will be one of the Toronto bashes of the season, and from the sounds of it will be full of the boudoir charm of the Jezebel, with tarot card readings by Audrey Rose adding to the event’s mystique. Canadian R&B sensation Trish will be performing; Sarah is reportedly a big fan of her edgy electro-pop/hip-hop/R&B-fueled sound, and the set will definitely be put-your-drink-down-and-dance-worthy. DJ Loose Lips will also be doing a set: clearly Sarah Taylor is not just a talented VJ, she also knows how to throw a bitchin’ fundraiser.
About two and a half years ago, Sarah suffered an accidental fall in Las Vegas while on assignment for MuchMusic and had to undergo emergency brain surgery. Miraculously, with surgery and therapy, she recovered from the life-threatening head injury and returned to work within the year. “I’m forever grateful for the life changing care I received from the talented and generous professionals at SickKids,” she says, “Whatever I can do to support them is always important to me.”
Make it out next Thursday for a wonderful cause and a great party. RSVP at rsvp@johnpr.com
