We’ve teamed up with Etsy Canada to showcase some of our favourite local designers in a regular new feature called My Etsy Shop. Each month we will focus on vendors that fit a particular theme; January is all about getting organized.
If you aren’t quite ready to tackle your overflowing filing cabinets, perhaps start with some inspiring wall art for your office. Dayna Lee’s sassy little collection is bound to spark some motivation, and at the bottom of our Q&A we’ve listed a variety of Etsy Shops with cute and clever offerings that will bring some order to your home.
SDTC: What do you make?
DL: I offer a Canadian-made hand lettered collection of art prints, pillow covers, and accessories featuring uplifting and inspiring quotes with a goal of empowering women.
SDTC: How has your business grown over the years?
DL: Dayna Lee Collection only began in March of this year so there are many ideas and directions still to take – so with that in mind, I am very optimistic! I want to continue expanding into new product lines which includes a line of clothing. My main focus for 2015 will be to build wholesale relationships with small Canadian businesses.
SDTC: What are your top sellers?
DL: My top sellers include anything with my quote “She’s Building Her Empire”. I think it’s something truly powerful that women would like in front of them on a daily basis. A lot of my customers are from the US but I hope to gain exposure locally in 2015.
SDTC: What do you love most about being part of the Etsy community?
DL: I’ve been in love with Etsy for years now and as a seller – I trust the process, I enjoy the relationships I’ve built with other Etsy sellers and the opportunities it can bring.
SDTC: What are you looking forward to most in 2015?
DL: I couldn’t be more excited for 2015! I feel a true sense of direction and am diving in with big goals and less self doubt than my first year as an entrepreneur. Top on my list for 2015 is participating in the One of a Kind Show in the Spring proudly representing Etsy in the Etsy Section.
SDTC: What is your best tip for getting organized?
DL: believe in writing things down on paper. Keeping a list of anything you need to remember or tackle for the day and having it where you can easily find and refer to is a way I like to stay organized. I believe in keeping a planner (Dayna Lee Collection has some pretty adorable weekly planners if I do say so myself) so I can keep a clear view of my weeks and month ahead instead of entering these details into my phone. If you have an unpredictable schedule like myself, I find writing out lists and using a day planner to be incredibly useful to stay organized.
