There have been way too many parties lately. Too many late nights soaked in booze. Too many days where I feel like a caffeinated hamster spinning on a wheel. Not enough sleep. Stress. Anxiety. Mental breakdown. That’s how I feel right now. In fact, if I could choose to do anything at this moment I would like to be lifted in a helicopter to Canyon Ranch to detox and rest for two weeks. Unfortunately, I don’t have thirty thousand dollars lying around – so instead I’m going to treat myself to a day of yoga, water and wellness this coming Monday in Dundas Square. Yeah, I know what you are thinking – why the hell do I want to do a downward dog in the smoggy centre of the city where middle aged men can check out my ass while they eat a burger and drink beer at the Hard Rock Cafe? Well my friends – because this is what real yogis do – they zone out, breathe and transcend to a better place. They are able to combat noise with deep concentration and stretching. I need to learn that – which is why I’ll be attending the first ever Elevate to Exhale hosted by Spynga.
This coming Monday I will join ninety-nine other Torontonians in Dundas Square to combat my stress with yoga. In between poses, I’ll take advantage of the complimentary Starbucks beverages on hand and learn how to set goals with the Lululemon goal experts.
What will I not do? Check my effing Blackberry.
Dundas Square will be a better place this Monday.
Breathe woman.
