Drawn to Develop is holding its second annual fundraising gala next Thursday, October 15th, and it promises to be an evening full of outstanding photography, some amazing Canadian indie music and feel-good philanthropy that offers you the chance to make a difference.
Drawn to Develop is an evening focused on raising awareness and celebrating the accomplishments of street survivors around the world, with all proceeds going to Street Kids International, a charity devoted to helping street youths develop business skills and health knowledge. Forty-four of Canada’s most celebrated photographers have created one-of-a-kind photographs based on drawings by street survivors in India, Kenya, Nepal, Peru and Sierra Leone, and these interpretive pieces will be on display and auctioned off at the event.
Entertainment for the evening is all about collaboration as well, featuring home-grown indie rockers Zeus, Jason Collett and Kevin Drew, as well as a set by Brendan Canning and synth-pop trio Parallels. A decidedly solid line-up for a gala event!
Tickets to Drawn to Develop are $75 per person–this is the amount it takes to put one street youth through the Street Kids International program, so you really are helping out a needy child just by coming to this exciting gala event.
