There is a bit of a problem in the world right now when it comes to girls and role models. With Kim Kardashian and Jessica Simpson gracing grocery checkout glossies on a weekly basis, and mainstream media prioritizing celebrity over intellect, it’s difficult for young girls to even know or find out about positive female role models.

On Tuesday June 26th, Dove will host its first ever live-streamed event at facebook.com/dove. Everyone can tune in at 7pm EST to watch, participate and consider our current dilemma and are encouraged to invite a young girl in their life to watch too. Actress, song-writer and singer, Mandy Moore, will lead the conversation by sharing stories of four inspirational women in the fields of science, leadership, environmentalism and the arts. The goal is to shine the spotlight on the stories of strong role models for the next generation of women.

We love how Dove has distinguished itself as a brand for women with a clear mandate to embrace natural beauty, inside and out. Further, The Dove Self-Esteem Fund is an ongoing movement that inspires young girls to reach their full potential and focuses on self-confidence as the core component to a healthy self-image.

Although everyone is invited to tune in, we are running a contest on Twitter for a chance to attend this motivational and exciting event. It’s certainly a discussion that needs to happen and one that we love chiming in on. If you want to attend this event with a young girl in your life then follow us on Twitter and RT: Women Who Should be Famous with @DoveCanada for a chance to win.

Winners will be notified on June 20th. Event details will be sent directly.
