The Departure Festival + Conference has announced an exciting new lineup of artists that will join the iconic Toronto festival this spring. Newly announced musical creatives including Canadian R&B icon Jully Black, reggae legend Shaggy, Dallas Green, Shad, and many more will come together to share ideas, inspire, and connect as part of the festival’s Conference portion.
From May 6-11, Departure’s Festival portion will showcase 100+ emerging and established artists at 40+ venues across Toronto, with Hotel X as the festival’s hub. Other performers confirmed for Departure include Tia Wood, Sadboi, Noeline Hofmann, Planet Giza, Mustafa, and Avenoir.
“We’re excited to roll out a showcase lineup featuring over 100 incredible artists, making Departure a true launch pad for emerging talent and a hub for meaningful connections,” said Kevin Barton, Executive Producer at Loft Entertainment.

Departure is a reimagination of Canadian Music Week, which has been a staple in Toronto’s music scene for more than 40 years. This year, the new iteration of the festival is expanding its offerings to include comedy, art and tech, celebrating artistry and innovation across fields.
In addition to plenty of musical offerings, audiences can also look forward to laugh-out-loud comedy programming at the festival. One of the highlights is a live edition of How Did This Get Made?, an award-winning podcast that celebrates bad movies with co-host comedians and actors Paul Scheer, Jason Mantzoukas, and June Diane Raphael.
Attendees can also join in on celebrating Canadian comedic talent, with showcases hosted by Ali Hassan and Rebecca Reeds, and a Canadian Headliner Series at Comedy Bar featuring comics like Caroline Rhea, Mark Forward, Ivan Decker, and Ashwyn Singh.
There is so much to look forward to in this lineup, with more artists to be announced soon!
