This weekend, we went to the Fairmont Pacific Rim to toast my girlfriend’s birthday, commonwealth styles, by taking in their afternoon tea in The Lobby Lounge.
First we tested out loose leaf samples from the T Company and picked out our favourites. Mine? Eros, from the black tea family. As our server filled our personalized tea pots and waited for them to steep, we snacked on these beautiful mini buttery scones with a berry spread.
While we talked about our lives (have I mentioned I felt like I was in a Vancouver version of Sex and the City?), the server brought the most delicious tasting three-tiered tray of an assortment of macaroons, cakes, and sushi, bringing together a truly east-meets-west fusion. The craziest thing on the tray? A berry tart dusted with gold flakes.
Have an afternoon with you and your girlfriends while you talk about the aftermath of the Royal Wedding, and how Prince Harry has magically filled out over the years.
