Experience the magnificent music of Shakespeare’s timeless love story with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra this February when TSO Music Director Gustavo Gimeno conducts Romeo & Juliet!
For two spectacular nights (Feb 8 + 9) the TSO will bring the world’s greatest romance to life. No music captures the passion, drama, and emotional depth of Shakespeare’s tale more fully than Sergei Prokofiev’s spectacular ballet score. The event also marks the highly-anticipated TSO debut of Spanish violinist María Dueñas, the 20-year-old virtuoso who won the 2021 Menuhin Competition and was named Artist of the New Generation by BBC Radio.
As with most TSO performances, the evening will contrast old and new, as the Orchestra performs a recent composition by Canadian Samy Moussa, and the dazzling feats of Lalo’s Symphonie espagnole, performed by Dueñas.
We think this concert would be a beautiful way to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a music lover in your life, and will definitely bring some warmth and electric energy this winter. Head to Roy Thomson Hall for an unforgettable performance.
