The highly anticipated Humans is coming to Toronto’s Sony Centre this Friday, and we want to send you! The stunning performance is an audience hit, and critics are raving. “Courageous, groundbreaking, risk-taking–these are artists/athletes of the highest order,” said ArtsHub Australia, where the show premiered last month.
Ten acrobats from award-winning contemporary circus ensemble Circa take us on a stirring journey of what it means to be human and how our bodies, our connections and our aspirations all form part of who we are.
Exploring the physical limits of their bodies as they are pushed to the extreme, they question how much we can take as humans. How much weight can we carry? Who can we trust to support our load? They lead us to reflect on our lives, our loved ones, the burdens we carry, and the physical and emotional strength it takes to overcome them.
Created by Yaron Lifschitz, Humans opens with a stage that is stripped bare, as a team of highly skilled acrobats is exposed. With incredible strength and integrity, they connect each moment seamlessly with the next in a thrilling and heart-stopping performance. Glimpse their humanity as they find redemptive power in strength and celebrate what it means to be fiercely human.
Who wants to cap off their workweek with a truly enthralling performance sure to elicit a full-body reaction? We’re giving away tickets! And you’ve got three ways to enter.
