Aviva Reimer is a love guru, dating expert and owner of Perfect-Fit, a Toronto-based match-making and consulting company.
She attributes her success to her hands-on, real-world approach with clients which encompasses everything from personal training to texting tutorials and dating etiquette. It also doesn’t hurt that she was trained by THE Patty Stranger of Bravo TV’s The Millionaire Matchmaker!
SDTC: What does a typical Thursday look like for you, from waking up to going to bed?
AR: Most of my days start with my morning vitamin drink and my favourite Sirius radio channel, CHILL. Music is a big part of my life. The day is filled with meeting clients and figuring out how to find their perfect match. I am a bit of a night owl, therefore, i do most of my office work at night.
SDTC: What do you enjoy most about your career?
AR: I love making a difference in peoples lives. There is nothing more rewarding. I truly enjoy creating change, whether it’s a full makeover or creating a new date look, it makes me happy to see clients apply the knowledge I provide.
SDTC: What do you find the most challenging?
AR: One of my biggest obstacles is helping people open their mind and accept or create positive change. People are programmed by past experiences and it can be challenging to show a new perspective. However, where there is a will there is a way!
SDTC: What are the three skills you require most to do your job well?
AR: There are definitely more than three! Some of the key skills are: good communication skills, perception and intuition skills, patience and a lot of passion. Not everyone can do what I do. You need to be someone people can really trust and believe in. This is my true calling .
SDTC: What was the best piece of advise you received from Millionaire Matchmaker Patty Stranger?
One of the biggest things I took away from working with Patty Stranger (Millionaire Matchmaker) is you can’t do this job unless you’re truly passionate about helping people. This was clarity for me to know that I am right where I need to be. She also taught me how not to take things to heart all the time, as you can’t help those that don’t want to help themselves. She and I share the same logic and wisdom.
SDTC: You have five hours of blissful, uninterrupted time in Toronto. Where do you grab a bite, shop and relax?
AR: Bliss for me means being by the waterfront, and preferably in warm weather. I love taking a nice walk on the boardwalk with music in my ears and a Tazo Chai Late . I also love Mexican food, and one of my family’s favourite spots is called El Rincon on St. Clair St. A nice walk , some shopping at Yorkdale and a casual dinner to follow certainly puts a smile on my face.
SDTC: What’s coming up for you in 2015 that you’re excited about?
AR: Lots of great things happening this year , including traveling to Italy with my best friend. I’m also looking forward to collaborating with amazing clients and helping them through their struggles and tribulations. I am truly looking forward to changing lives and making a difference.
