This Thursday night, Toronto arts and culture publication The Wa Magazine will cross paths with Canadian producer extraordinaire Ryan Hemsworth at Wrongbar (1279 Queen St. W.) in what is sure to be one helluva sweaty dance party.
BUT, the party doesn’t start (or end, probably) there! From 7 to 11 pm at The Mascot (1267 Queen St. W.), The Wa will celebrate the launch of its newest energy-themed issue – which includes stories on green energy, the joys of arguing, and a Canadian company that makes tech to interface with human brainwaves. Stop by for drinks, a demo of brainwave computing (the future!), a DJ set by Max Mohenu, and a chance to grab an early copy of the print issue for $12.
Afterwards, you’ll want to get your butts and brainwaves over to Wrongbar for a live set by Halifax producer/remixer/DJ Ryan Hemsworth with support from locals ItsMattLangille and Adam Jackson. Hemsworth is gaining lots of buzz right now so you can bet on a packed show. Check out his latest track “BasedWorld” here and read past issues of The Wa here to prepare. Doors at 10:30 pm, $10 before 12:30 am (or free with a copy of The Wa’s Energy Issue).
