Can you believe 1993 was 20 YEARS AGO?! Some highlights: Kim Campbell became the first female Prime Minister, Bill Clinton became President, tuberculosis was declared a global emergency by the World Health Organization, Jurassic Park premiered, Ty launched the first Beanie Babies, and the Toronto Blue Jays won the World Series. This Friday, it’s time to party like it’s 1993 all over again (maybe without the tuberculosis part though) at Mr. Pong’s Bar (1576 Dundas St. W.) as DJ Scott Wade plays everything and anything from that year. If the Facebook page is any indication, this includes Smashing Pumpkins, Bikini Kill, Blind Melon, Wu-Tang Clan, Tag Team, The Cranberries, and Meat Loaf (if “I’d Do Anything for Love is played, you can bet on an epic sing-a-long).
