Purveyors of all things cool for kids, Bunch Family, and GapKids are teaming up this Saturday for an event that’s making us seriously question why we were in such a hurry to grow up.
From 1 to 4 pm, kids and parents in Toronto and Vancouver are invited to come rock out at GapKids (80 Bloor St. W. in Toronto and Park Royal Shopping Centre in Vancouver) to live sets by two of hottest acts in the U.S. kindie scene. Yeah, we’ve never heard of kindie either but Bunch Family tells us it’s indie music for kids, becoming mega-popular down south with its own circuit of festivals (Kidzapalooza!) and impresario (Lollapalooza founder Tor Hyams).
Kindie Rocks GapKids! (think of it as Coachella for the playground set) will bring the same kind of bohemian and trendy outfits as the big leagues alongside the full music festival treatment, with organic juice boxes replacing the microbrewed beer, obviously. Guests can look forward to all-access lanyards, roaming photographers, DIY rock pin-making and a VIP mystery shopper experience that guarantees 20-40% off and a limited edition Kindie Rocks GapKids! tote bag with every purchase. Seattle Kindie band Board of Education will entertain the Vancouver guests while Philly’s Billy Kelly is in Toronto.
The event is free to attend but RSVP is suggested to kindie@bunchfamily.com. Does anyone have any kids we can borrow for the afternoon?
