From June 5th to 6th, Breakthroughs International Film Festival celebrates its 4th year of showcasing young female talent. Breakthroughs is dedicated to promoting the work of New Generation female filmmakers from Canada and around the world.
This year’s lineup features 17 short films by female directors, including award-winning selections in drama, comedy, documentary, and experimental work. Featuring films from Canada, Korea, Lebanon, Turkey, and the US, it is no wonder why the theme of Breakthroughs is identity. Click here for a list of the full 2015 lineup.
Breakthroughs International Film Festival is the only festival in Canada devoted exclusively to short films by emerging women filmmakers.
The screenings will take place on June 5th and 6th at Innis Town Hall (2 Sussex Ave.) from 7-9pm. Tickets are now on sale, and can be purchased for $12 online (visit www.breakthroughsfilmfestival.com for more details) and $15 at the door (subject to availability). A two-night festival pass is also available for only $20.
