If you’re an aspiring photojournalist/writer, you’re going to want to join the Ryerson Review of Journalism on Thursday, April 6 for a discussion about breaking barriers in journalism. The conference coincides with the launch of the RRJ’s Spring 2017 print issue and will feature panels on gender barriers in photojournalism and surviving as a freelance journalist in Canada.
There will be a keynote address by Kamal Al-Solaylee (author of Governor General’s award nominee for Brown: What Being Brown in the World Today Means (To Everyone) followed by a Women in Photojournalism panel featuring Rita Leistner, Kisha Ferguson, Tanja-Tiziana, and SDTC contributor Solana Cain. Following that there will be a freelance journalism panel featuring Naomi Skwarna, Rebecca Rose and more.
