This November, celebrate 100 years of Black excellence on screen with TIFF’s retrospective, Black Star. Films will be accompanied by panels, filmmaker interviews, special guest hosts and more.

From classic opera through a Black lens (Carmen Jones) to the bitter fruit of passing (Imitation of Life) to the culture-clashing mirth of Coming To America, prepare to be positively floored by the Black Star selections. You’ll find your fave classics (Malcolm X, In The Heat Of The Night and Six Degrees of Separation) as well as hidden gems (Child of Resistance and Soul Survivor).
