In this city, the New Year always brings a crop of great concerts and shows to look forward to, especially during the colder months. Dancing is a particularly effective method of beating the winter blues, amirite? On February 23, hip-hip/electronic artist and total babe Stromae will take the stage at the Metropolis, bringing his exhilarating and ridiculously catchy beats with him.
This Belgian boy’s French dance tunes are completely unique and are certainly something that most Montrealers need to hear, if they haven’t already. The quality of French rap-dance in this province is abysmal – Stromae brings the inspiration we need! His most popular song Alors on danse (and its accompanying video) played for two weeks straight on my YouTube playlist after I’d discovered it, no lie. Follow that up with his second big hit Te Quiero and the dance party possibilities become endless!
Tickets are $46 (tax + fees not included); tickets can be purchased here. Québécois independent artist Karim Ouellet will open the evening with music from his newest album ‘Plume’.
Doors open at 6:30pm, show begins at 8pm. Be there!
