I spent a day hanging out at a Toronto Barber Shop with a bunch of guys who were more than happy to tell me how much they adore the women in their lives.
Here are their answers to two very important questions:
1. What do you love most about women?
2. Who is your favourite woman of all time?
Spoiler Alert: The jury is out as to whether or not nice guys finish last, but in any case they definitely love their mothers.

“Women simply inspire men to do things better than they would do for themselves. Julia Child is pretty cool. She is strong and she did what she wanted. She made the world a better place.”
John Paul
“What do I love most about women? That’s a hard question. I love the beauty of women. Their kindness and how nurturing they are. I guess just being a woman is awesome. My favourite women? #1 is my daughter. Her name is Noelle.”
Peter
“Their bodies….[laughs] No, it depends on the woman. How do you generalize something like that? Sheryl Crowe. I think her and Nana Mouskouri are the best musicians on the planet.”
Emmanuel
“Intelligence, beauty, completeness. My mother of course. For always being there for me and for being someone who has always loved me without me even wanting to love her back. Even when I fall I can always trust her.”
Brian
“A lot of the women I know are very determined and very strong-minded. I think that’s super rad. I tend to surround myself with women who are self directed, know what they want, and know how to get it. My grandmother is my favourite woman of all time. She just had a way about her and a way with words. She was very determined, very articulate, and super smart. She ran a business for years and took care of my grandpa after he had a debilitating accident. She was a super strong lady until the day she died.”
Ahmed
“For some reason women’s self image is always less than what it really is. They usually have some insecurity that makes no sense because they are beautiful. My grandmother was strong, powerful, and a pioneer for her time.”
Alvin
“The best thing about women is their company. Angelina Jolie is very inspirational. She does so much in society to give back.”
Sheldon
“My favourite thing about women is the way they can connect emotionally on a spectrum that men can’t naturally. My mom has taught me everything. She’s also taught me everything I know about women. How to treat women and be respectful.”
Yehudah
“I love women’s compassion, grace, there’s too many things to name. My mom is my favourite, obviously. If it weren’t for gardening I’m not sure things would still be blooming but she’s my favourite.”
