While working 9-5 may be a great way to make a living, it can leave little time for all the fun things, like visiting the Art Gallery of Ontario as often as you want. At least, it used to cramp your style. Starting May 9, the AGO is extending its hours on select Friday evenings. You’re welcome, werking ladies.

Mark it down: the ENTIRE gallery will remain open until 8:30 on Friday May 9, June 6 and July 11!

We couldn’t think of a more relaxing and cultured way to celebrate the end of a grueling workweek than a trip to the AGO. This Friday, we’re looking forward to checking out the dark, passionate and moving Francis Bacon & Henry Moore: Terror & Beauty exhibition. Once you and your pals have taken in all the arty sights, walk over to AGO’s FRANK restaurant for some serious postmodern criticism (or gossip, w/e) over cocktails. Be sure to order something yummy from their Spring  Cocktail Collection like a Kiwi Mojito or Victorian Pimm’s. FRANK is open Tuesday through Saturday evenings 5:30pm to 10pm.

But wait… there’s more! In addition to seeing the art, the AGO wants you to meet some incredible contemporary Canadian artists at one of its free opening parties. Bring your friends, grab a drink and take the opportunity to chat with Scott McFarland on Wednesday, May 14  from 6:30 to 8:30. Geoffrey Farmer opening party goes down Wednesday, July 2.
