Nuit Blanche returns on October 5 from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., and Toronto’s newest creative hub, Artscape Daniels Launchpad, is stepping into the mix!
The massive space on the water (which just opened last year) will be animated by three Independent Projects, five pop-up art installations by Karn Goode, Samantha-Jane Ince, Blāque Book and Aquarius Mood, Mau Schoettle, AY Lawson and Jazmine Yerbury, and an immersive VR experience created by four Regent Park youth. Look for an immersive 360-degree surround experience called Sounds of Toronto,an animation installation that looks at the connections between psychotropic plants and crime, a performance piece called ART STAR, large-scale fashion illustrations, and a participatory VR experience that celebrates the creativity of Regent Park. You’ll also discover many other installations dotted throughout—from mixed media tapestries to walls of coloured light. We can’t give it all away though, you’ve just gotta see it with your own eyes!
Artscape Daniels Launchpad is at 130 Queens Quay E, 4th floor. Find all the deets here.
