The fourth annual Ad Ball (part of Toronto Ad Week) brought together 600 account executives, creative directors, copywriters, publicists, and industry leaders for a night of speakeasy rivalry. The theme was Great Gatsby; ladies wore feathers, dudes came in tweed, and we arrived in ripped leather jackets. Just about every major Toronto agency (PR and advertising) was represented with a gaggle of young, hardworking (hard-partying) coworkers who were more than ready to knock back the Peroni and work the room. Before the infamous Dr. Draw took the stage, Tricia Soltys, Account Director at Edelman PR, wowed the crowd with her performance of Peggy Lee’s “Fever.” Everyone looked smashing, and beyond being a hotspot for optimum networking, it was one helluva throw down that, with a giant disco ball, felt like a rather wild New Year’s Eve.
