Can’t make it up north this Canada Day long weekend? Take it easy, the Gladstone Hotel is throwing a day-long party to help you celebrate this glorious country of ours in true Canadian fashion.
This Friday, beginning at 4 p.m. in the Melody Bar (1214 Queen St. W.), the Gladstone will be hosting a special Canadian Edition of their weekly Adult Colouring Workshop. For those who haven’t been, the concept is simple: grab a beer, groove to some tunes, and try to stay in the lines. Speaking of tunes, Eddy Culjak will be playing all your favourite Canadian foot-stompers, sea shanties, and sing-alongs. From 9 p.m. onwards, show off your pipes on tracks by Shania Twain, Bryan Adams, the Biebs, Barenaked Ladies, Nickelback (if you’re bold like that), and more at Fameless Karaoke. Admission is free!
And since it wouldn’t be a true Canada Day without donuts, the Gladstone will be selling fresh mini-donuts all day. (We’ll take a dozen, please.)
