Girls’ Art League is completely transforming the Garrison (1197 Dundas St. W.) into a wild wonderland of art, dancing, and music this Friday night.
Founded in 2014, Girls’ Art League is a Toronto-based organization that empowers girls and women through visual arts. They regularly host eight-week courses, workshops, artist talks, and mentorship programs to help girls and women develop their artistic practice, express themselves visually, and build confidence.
Friday’s fundraiser (emphasis on the FUN!) will feature an art installation by D&S Projects, a shadow puppet photo booth by Caterwaul Theatre, live music from Persian Rugs and Ronley Teper’s Lipliners, interactive art installations, and a hot sweaty dance party curated by DJs Mary Mack and Sigourney Beaver.
Entry is $10, with all proceeds going to Girls’ Art League so they can continue offering free workshops to social service organizations across the city. The party kicks off at 9 p.m.
