Design aficionados from the worlds of art, fashion, architecture and home interiors came together to celebrate bold design at The Design Exchange’s annual fundraiser. This year, the event honoured George Yabu and Glen Pushelberg of the Yabu Pushelberg design firm, winners of the DXI 2015 award. As a nod to the designers’ roots, the event was titled and themed DX Kismet, encouraging guests to explore their own interpretation of the word, and dress accordingly.
From gold-dusted naked bodies to a woman who dressed her leg cast in gold (lady, you’re a trooper!) there was a lot of, well, GOLD. Favoured accessories came in the form of artsy turbans, masks a la Eyes Wide Shut, and draping jewels.
Beyond all the shiny, happy people, there were even caged go-go dancers and devils on horseback (dates wrapped in bacon), so yeah, it was excellent.
