I’ll admit it, I’m a mascara junkie. Cursed with teenie-tiny eyelashes, I’ve tried all the wands, brushes, formulas, and fakeries to create the illusion of lashes for days. The result? More often than not, clumpy lashes, black-stained towels, and a box full of half-empty tubes labeled ‘disappointment.’ So imagine my excitement when I heard through the grapevine that Kiehl’s was creating their own mascara-part of their minimalist makeup line, which provides exactly what you need for the freshest face imaginable, no more, no less. The idea? Combine everything good about Kiehl’s nourishing skin care, and create makeup that looks and feels good on. But what got me hooked? As I was admiring the olde-world apothecary packaging, team Kiehl’s gave me some tips on how to make the most of my eyes with mascara. Rule number one? Don’t pump your brush in and out of the mascara tube. This lets air bubbles in, and dries your mascara out faster. Rule number two is to twist the applicator as you remove it from the tube. This eliminates clumping. Using Kiehl’s tiny brush, you can create the illusion of eyeliner using just your mascara. The smooth formula works for upper and lower lashes, framing your eye without overwhelming it. The formula is also paraben and fragrance free, so it’s safe and gentle on the eyes.

To get the look above, combine Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Tinted Moisturizer (with SPF 15), Kiehl’s tinted lip balm and line lips with a rose lip pencil. Finish off with Kiehl’s Marvelous Mineral Mascara.
