Fashion has a not-so-secret crush on Hitchcock. It’s like when you’re blissfully unaware of just how in love you really are – you can’t stop talking about your new beau, your friends begin to roll their eyes and they sigh everytime his name comes up, and you see his face everywhere you go.

The master of suspense, Alfred Hitchcock, has cast a timeless spell with his iconic cinematic creations and he simply will not let us forget it. Grace Kelly in Rear Window, Kim Novak in Vertigo, and Tippi Hedren in The Birds – three blondes looking elegant in hourglass silhouettes and perfectly coiffed hair. We have seen this look time and time again, and although our love has never been stronger [Mad Men, anyone?], you can always count on Fashion Cares to stir things up a bit. For its 22nd year, Fashion sCares presented a ghoulishly fabulous couture line-up for the catwalk – meow!

As for beauty – think black feathers, red glittered pouts, and eyes smudged perfectly with black kohl. MAC Senior Artist, Grace Lee describes it as, "A glamorous look inspired by the 50’s – a beautiful red lip and a defined, but not overdone, eye. This style is all over today’s red carpets and runways. It’s the classic Hitchcock pinup."

Later in the evening, we turned up the drama. "The makeup is over the top and inspired by the various degrees and shades of black. It’s gluing hundreds of black and grey Swarovski crystals onto the face to give the gorgeous illusion of a crystallized mask." This look was married with massive hair, decorated with larger-than-life black crow headpieces.

From the silver screen to the runway, MAC cosmetics brought Hitchcock spirit to the runways just in time for Halloween. Sexy. Dark. Devilish. Until next year…
