POP QUIZ: what event which raises money and awareness for an important cause has grown exponentially over the last four years aaaaand is a great time for you and your friends? Okay, we’ll give you a hint: this year’s incarnation expects over 500 attendees at the gorgeous Burroughes Building. Figure it out? Excited yet?
On Saturday May 10th, The Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research (CANFAR) YPC will be hosting its 4th annual Paint the Town Red gala. Festivities include a silent auction featuring local artists, delish eats, legit raffle prizes (think Porter flights and decadent Swarovski jewels) with some groovin beats courtesy of DJ Cal of Salacioussound.com.
The topic of HIV and AIDS is still plagued with stigma and misconceptions, with many believing that the fight is over. This is a cause very close to our hearts, and we are honoured to be partnering with CANFAR to help spread their important message and join in their mission.
CANFAR is Canada’s only independent charitable foundation dedicated to eliminating AIDS through research. By funding promising Canadian HIV and AIDS research and spreading awareness through informational campaigns, CANFAR is contributing to the global fight to end AIDS.
To date, this inspiring initiative has raised over $65,000 in support of CANFAR, with funds going directly to HIV and AIDS research in Canada. Since 1987, CANFAR has awarded more than $18 million to HIV and AIDS research projects.
Now you can assist in the fight to end AIDS globally:
