Friends for over 15 years, the duo met in the late 90’s DIY punk scene in suburban Southern Ontario. Billy’s photography has been a creative source for Chris’s printed work for many years, but this will be their first major collaboration since the end of their Let’s Drive to Mexico fanzine in 2002. 7:30 pm Bad Movie Night Toronto Presents: The Amazing Bulk & Poochinski @ Clinton’s, 693 Bloor St. W. Bad Movie Night Toronto smashes its way into Clinton’s this month with a pseudo double bill. Here are Bad Movie Night’s amazing descriptions of these amazingly bad films: “You can probably guess which oh so famous comic book character THE AMAZING BULK is ripping off, but instead of being a straight-up copycat, this flick gradually transforms into a much more bizarre cinematic experience involving a monocle-wearing mad scientist and a plot to blow up the moon. Shot entirely in front of a green screen, THE AMAZING BULK plays like the shoddiest clipart version of Sin City you done ever seen… POOCHINSKI – a failed ABC television pilot about a cop (played by Peter Boyle) who is killed in the line of duty, only to come back to life as a street-smart talking bulldog. Yup. Now while the premise itself is ridiculous, what really piles on the crazy is how this poor pilot desperately wants to be everything for everyone. So in a jam-packed 20 minutes, POOCHINSKI tries to provide exciting action, odd couple buddy comedy, a romantic subplot, the obligatory talking dog hijinks, *and* a serious conversation about the precious nature of life.”
10 pm I Remember Nothing @ The Shop under Parts & Labour, 1566 Queen St. W. The second installment of short series of parties offering something more. The end result of all six parties will be a zine published by Permanent Sleep. There will be disposable cameras on hand for you to use and leave with behind at the end of the night. Punk, new wave, post punk. $5.
