Oh my gosh, you guys. I had heard amazing things about ROM PROM, but I’d never been before. Now, I am basically the party’s number one fan.
One of the year’s most anticipated galas, PROM raises money for the ROM (the money goes towards exhibitions, galleries, and programs) and always features a different theme. This year’s was Rock the Cradle of Civilization: Ancient PROM. That meant Cleopatra, Caesar, Julius, and…Jesus? Awww yeah shout-out to that man, and also to the couple who came as Barney and Betty Rubble. Shine on.
The evening was, to say the least, a ton of fun. It was hosted by MTV’s Aliya-Jasmine Sovani and CP24’s Gurdeep Ahluwalia; plus we spotted Toronto Argos Mike Bradwell and Joe Eppele, who are very tall and handsome. Grooving to the beats of DJ Rory Them Finest, party-goers munched on delicious Mediterranean-inspired dishes such as chicken souvlaki, greek salad, and quinoa with tomatoes and chickpeas. DROOLZ (seriously my friend would not shut up about how good the food was, but it didn’t even bother me because it was so true). There was also a fully stocked open bar, a nail art bar (!!!), VIP hand massages, and a Henry’s/Canon photo booth. Basically I felt like a very lucky human to be there.
