Lick A Shot is one of my favourite parties in the city because a) it’s a good, sweaty time, and b) it involves rap songs from our youth. I even named a playlist on my iPhone after it because every time I’ve been, I’ve been reunited with songs that I had totally forgot about but absolutely need in my life.

This Saturday, Lick A Shot returns to the Red Light (1185 Dundas St. W.) after being on hiatus since September (which means things are bound to get a little crazy). DJs Geoff Snack and Vanity Muscles will be in the back room playing rap classics, rap hits, and rap future-classics all night long. If you’re looking for the perfect non-sequitor precursor to St. Patrick’s Day, this is it.
