Last week we joined hundreds at The Berkeley Church for the 2nd annual “The Big Give” charity gala, with 100% of proceeds from ticket sales being donated to Look Good Feel Better.
LGFB is dedicated to improving the self-esteem and quality of life of women undergoing treatment for cancer.
Look Good Feel Better offers a variety of services but one that we learned about that we think is wonderful is the self-empowerment & cosmetic workshop, 2 Hours to WOW! They’re offered free to cancer survivors in hospitals and elsewhere by professionals who generously donate their time. Pretty much the best use of a $50 ticket.
It was an evening of smiles and good vibes. Beyond a heartwarming cause, guests were treated to live bands, tons of yummy snacks and an open bar. Ginormous raffle prizes were auctioned off throughout the night, including one lucky lady who won a surf board. Tubular! Could she fit the surf board in the backseat of the cab on her way home? We will never ever know but always wonder.
At the end of the night, guests were handed an overflowing swag bag that was described by a publicist as “weighing more than a baby”. It was really heavy and full of great loot. I have equipped my bathroom with soaps and shampoos for the next year. You get a lot at The Big Give.
