This month, the limited-run Sheroes art party will be celebrating the Queen of the Gay Discos, Grace Jones. Co-headlined by Juno-award winning dub poet Lillian Allen and premier vogueing house of Canada House of Monroe, the night will celebrate the glamourous gender-bending icon of disco.
A legend of Studio 54, Grace Jones was a muse to Andy Warhol who had a string of dance club hits. She’s also an actress: She appeared in a Bond film and acted alongside Eddie Murphy, Tim Curry, and Arnold Schwarzenegger throughout her career. But she is best remembered for her striking androgynous style.
As usual, Sheroes has curated an amazing line up of artists and performers to pay tribute to the icon of the night. For all the info, check out their Tumblr. Admission is free and all are welcome.
