Iron fillings. Plastic chicken wire. Magnets. These are three things I see myself finding in a recycling bin or a sci-fi dumpster (in my sci-fi dreams). For Cristina Sabaiduc, a Ryerson fashion grad, these are three things she uses in the creation of garments that explore new design techniques and feature overarching romantic-industrial themes.

Sabaiduc moved to London, U.K. about a year ago and already, she’s beginning to leave her mark on the city. The young designer debuted her SS12 collection this past September at London Fashion Week and her looks can be seen on British Vogue Online as well as Glamour UK.

“The Spring/Summer 2012 debut London collection at the Hospital Club evolved from a flat, 2-D gallery exhibition into a full catwalk show, presenting the spatial element involved in creating the shape and form of the collection. The influences for this collection are rooted in an interest in the artistic cultural progressions of the Far East, particularly from Tibet and Ancient China.”
