Have you ever felt like a good orgasm cures all? When we are feeling stressed and anxious sometimes a quick “Ohhhh” is all we need to feel fresh and new again. (It also does wonders for a radiant facial glow!) Set in Victorian England, Hysteria, Directed by Tanya Wexler, is a romantic comedy about the invention of the vibrator and we can think of no better actress to play the lead role of daring and confident Charlotte than Maggie Gyllenhaal. Maggie always lands the provocative parts but it’s not just that. The heroines she picks are always complicated, a little bit kinky and endearingly quirky. We fell in love with Maggie way back when Secretary premiered at TIFF in 2002 and it looks like the cool actress has maintained her attraction to somewhat scandalous scripts. Here, Maggie talks about being an “animal….sexual and full of life.” We can’t wait to see this film about the first buzzzzy sex toy that had prim British folk in a tizzy of awkward confusion.
