It’s no secret I like a good brew. I generally prefer it to wine with my meals, and it’s often my pre-gaming choice. I also like all the awesome things BC has to offer, and all the awesome things people are doing to shape communities within the province. What happens when you combine the two? Beer with a conscience and a happy consumer.
Phillips Brewery in Victoria is using their tasty brews to raise awareness and funds for a lucky, local charity with their third annual Benefit Brew. Here’s how it works.
Phillips will make a limited release, custom beer for a local charity, complete with a fancy label and the hype generated by the event. When you buy a beer, all proceeds will go back into the charity. And you get a delicious pint. Win-win!
But it doesn’t stop there. Phillips is letting you participate by picking the charity. You can nominate your fav charity on their website. In early September ten finalists are announced and put to the vote. You’ll see the winner announced in October, and the beer will hit the shelves in November.
You only have until August 21st to pick your charity, so get crackin’! It’s a unique way to show your support and connect a charity with a whole new community.
