8pm Brian Eno: Another Green World + selected shorts & music videos @ Blue Sunshine, 3660 St-Laurent, 3rd floor. Brian Eno first starred as the feather-crested electronic keyboard genius of Roxy Music forty years ago. Since then he has been hailed as a pioneer, with his revolutionary experiments in ambient music and audio visual art and as featured producer on benchmark albums by David Bowie, Talking Heads, U2 and more. Eno gave BBC Arena unprecedented access to observe him working in his studio and talking with friends and colleagues. The master of reinvention engages with fellow influential minds, including Richard Dawkins, Malcolm Gladwell, David Whittaker and Steve Lillywhite, in a series of conversations on science, art, systems analysis, producing and cybernetics. Preceding Another Green World will be a curated selection of 70s and 80s-era Eno (and Eno-produced) music videos, along with interviews from the out-of-print Imaginary Landscapes.

7:30pm POP Lafontaine @ Théâtre de Verdure, Parc Lafontaine. POP teams up with the NFB and the Théâtre de Verdure to bring you two nights of FREE activities. On Aug 4, catch a free screening of the popular documentary Socalled, le Film (2010, Eng. v., Fr. sub.) with director Garry Beitel in attendance. On August 5, POP Montreal has programmed shows from some of Montreal’s finest songwriters, including Philémon Chante, Katie Moore and United Steel Workers of Montreal.
