Being the Senior Executive Producer of ET Canada is pretty much always a demanding role, but during TIFF it is engulfing. This year ET Canada will play host to four back-to-back parties. Tamara, and her crew, takeover the Yorkville rooftop and, not only throw consecutive bashes, but capture it all on camera – and this just at night. During the day, she will oversee the production of what will be covered from Red Carpet drama to one-on-one interviews….and of course, all that electrifying buzz that occurs without planning. It is a role that requires scrutinizing attention to detail while also the creativity and intuition to determine what the best story is.
One might assume that this job necessitates a stern dictator – but we’d describe Tamara as a bubbly Aussie with quick wit, sincere advice and a playful nature. Balance those qualities with a headstrong work ethic and you’ve pretty much got the best mentor to learn from.
How are you preparing for TIFF right now?
Trying to stick to my motto: One thing at a time! And all the regular girly things like getting my roots colored, waxing and tanning!
During TIFF, where would we most likely find you at 2PM? At 2AM?
2PM:At the ET Canada newsroom figuring out how to squeeze all the amazing content into that night’s show.
2AM:Under a huge clear-roofed marquee at our custom-built party venue ‘Festival Central’ in the centre of Yorkville.
What has been your most memorable TIFF party to date?
The party we threw for Woody Harrelson’s movie ‘Defendor’ last year. He made everyone’s night when he refused to stay in the VIP area and partied with the rest of the guests all night long!
What’s your celebrity story, or moment, that gets rehashed most at dinner parties?
Ha! I run an entertainment show – my lips are sealed!
What are three things you need to survive during TIFF?
1. My hard working ET Canada team – the best team in the biz! It wouldn’t be much without them.
2. My blackberry.
3. Hugs and kisses from my 3 year old Scarlett in that fleeting half hour visit home between wrapping the show and heading to the parties.
What film are you looking forward to most this year?
Black Swan, but I’ll have to wait until it is released because I’m so busy during Tiff that I don’t see any movies!
What party are you most excited about this year?
I’m biased, but I’d have to say the party we are throwing for Barney’s Version. It will be such a star-packed red carpet.
If you could pick the brain of one filmmaker, who would it be?
Kathryn Bigelow
If you could grab a drink with one celeb who is attending TIFF this year, who would you choose?
Nicole Kidman, I’m Australian so we could have a cuppa and share a sanger!
What’s the first thing you’ll do once TIFF is over?
Sleep and remove heels from my wardrobe for at least a month!
