For six years, the artist Jack Dylan has used illustration and poster art to document the city of Montreal. To mark the end of that collaboration, a retrospective exhibition of Dylan’s posters and drawings will be held at the Red Bird Gallery from August 27th to September 6th. The exhibition, titled “Le Flaneur,” explores the medium of the poster through a selection of prints and original pieces drawn from Dylan’s extensive portfolio. The selected pieces address the general historical theme of the flaneur in relation to the distinctive cultural flare exemplified by the Montreal music scene.

An artist talk will be presented at 8pm the night of the vernissage, August 27th, 2010. There will be booze for sale and music ‘til midnight care of a sexy mystery DJ.

The first of each print is currently available for pre-order at $200. They are large (40″ X 30″) limited addition photographic prints, signed, framed, and matted. Once the first of the print is sold, that image’s price goes up to $300. So, if you like what you see, be the first to order it and save $100! Click here to see what’s available.
