Linda Kash and Mimi Kuzyk are the stars of Auld Lang Syne, a hilarious and heartwarming comedy that embodies the best of friendship and festive fun.

Decades ago, Millie and Nell were best friends, both young, hopeful actresses with stars in their eyes. When they meet again on Christmas Eve, they’re both in their sixties, broke, and out of work. They decide to hide out on a luxurious film set, excited to spend their dream holiday on a well-stocked set rather than alone in their rooms.

But as the conflicts that ended their friendship begin to flare up, they must confront some difficult questions about their past. Did they waste their youth on a profession where only a few make it? Were the thrills and adventures of the acting life worth? And most importantly, is it too late to find happiness?

Written and directed by Joan Carr-Wiggin, and also starring Katie Boland, Ryan Allen, Daniel Jun, and Gregory Calderone, Auld Lang Syne is out now on Apple, Bell VOD, Shaw VOD, and Vimeo VOD.

SheDoesTheCity is pleased to share this delightful chat between the two iconic Toronto actresses. Cozied up on the couch at Mimi’s apartment, Mimi and Linda interviewed each other about sharing the set of Auld Lang Syne, the highlights of their acting careers and much more.

The dynamic duo covered the differences and similarities between themselves and their Auld Lang Syne characters (Linda says her and Millie are both gullible) and the fun they had on set.  It was also lovely to hear about the proudest work of Mimi’s career, as well as Linda’s roles in iconic comedies like Everybody Loves Raymond and Seinfeld

The chemistry and friendship between these two is palpable. We promise you’ll have an absolute hoot watching them chat about life and art—with some wonderful detours like their worst non-acting jobs, and how one of them ended up on the back of a Kellog’s box.
