Toronto Gingerbread Festival
The week-long Gingerbread Festival is back for another sweet year! 16 professionally-designed gingerbread houses will be unveiled in the windows of select storefronts in the Yonge & St. Clair region of Toronto. Crafted by gingerbread architect, Lisa Phillips, visitors can take in the gorgeous displays, as well as popping by the mystery box shoppe, snapping a pic at the photo booth and trying their hand at their own gingerbread house decorations! The Culture: Hip Hop and Contemporary Art in the 21st Century
Calling all Hip-Hop heads! The AGO has curated an immersive collection investigating the world of hip-hop through contemporary art and fashion. Celebrating Hip-Hop’s 50th anniversary, this exhibit brings together contemporary artists, musicians, designers and stylists including Derrick Adams, John Edmonds, Deana Lawson and Hank Willis Thomas to help tell this story. Breakthroughs Film Festival
Programmed under the theme ‘transformations,’ this year’s Breakthroughs Film Festival offers 20 short films from emerging women and non-binary filmmakers for its audiences to enjoy. This year’s festival also includes two industry panels featuring Nedda Sarshar, writer and director of Unibrow, and filmmakers Rabiya Mansoor, Nisha Khan and Marushka Almeida, as they discuss how to leverage short film success to dive into the world of web series. Your Tomorrow Premiere
