Public Sweat
Experience a unique fusion of art and sauna culture at Public Sweat! This community experience invites visitors to bask inside artist-designed sauna and sweat bathing structures. Head over to Harbourfront Centre from March 15-April 23 to take part in this rejuvenating and creatively stimulating event.
Toronto Comicon
Toronto Comicon arrives this week with one of its most exciting lineups to date. From March 17-19 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, immerse yourself in all things pop culture, sci-fi, anime and comics. Get ready for celebrity guests, epic cosplay, fan meetups, 400+ vendors, panels, tons of activities for kids and more! This year’s highlights include a Celeb Karaoke Party hosted by The Mandalorian’s Emily Swallow, a day dedicated to all things Pokémon, and celebrity appearances from cast members of The Boys and The Flash, Gilmore Girls favourite Scott Patterson, and many more! Toronto Short Film Festival
The Toronto Short Film Festival is a hub for local and international filmmakers to screen their work at the biggest shorts festival in the city. 100+ short films will be screening from March 18-21 at Paradise Theatre. Flaunt It Magazine Launch
Celebrate the launch of a local BIPOC and women-led magazine at this event on March 18. Toronto grassroots collective Flaunt It has worked with over 100 BIPOC artists to produce a visual anthology titled “Love Dimensions: Demanding Space for Self-Actualization,” sharing stories of women who have felt marginalized and unseen. Grab a copy at this launch event complete with live performances, photo-ops and installations. Proceeds from admission will support young BIWOC creatives in Toronto’s low-income neighbourhoods.
Love, Black Love
This intimate concert experience celebrates the many forms of Black love through song. On March 18 at Artscape Sandbox, local Toronto singers will perform musical theatre and chart-topping songs by some of the world’s top Black artists. Scores In The City Musical Productions has partnered with Toronto artistic director Tanisha Taitt for this one-night-only event highlighting the experiences of love in Black communities. Free Readings for International Astrology Day
Astrology enthusiasts can get free readings at this event celebrating International Astrology Day on March 18. Members of Astrology Toronto will be offering free 10 minute mini readings to the public at the Danforth/Coxwell Toronto Public Library branch.
