While we may not all be lining the streets for RUSH tickets, or hitting up over-the-top premiere parties, there’s still plenty to look forward to at TIFF 2020.
In an announcement today, The Festival shared several special events, including their hugely popular In Conversation With… series. Like always, this year’s talks will explore the power of film by chatting with the industry leaders that make it so goddamn special for the rest of us.
Oscar-nominated filmmaker Ava DuVernay (13th, Selma, I Will Follow) will discuss art, activism, and Black Lives Matter; four-time Oscar nominee actor Saoirse Ronan (Lady Bird, Little Women) will discuss her powerhouse performances over the past decade that have catapulted her to international fame, and the In Conversation…with Halle Berry will a do a deep dive of her entire career, including her recent experience directing Bruised, which will have its world premiere at TIFF.
“We are dedicated to providing a platform for filmmakers of colour, emerging talents, and independent creative film artists, and particularly women filmmakers — to spotlight their work, raise their profiles, and amplify their voices,” says Cameron Bailey, Co-Head of TIFF.
