Music about moving forward always feels good. Roadtrip songs, breakup songs, songs that make you feel like getting out of bed in the morning and shaking things up. Shout Out Louds’ cinematic and understated indie has always had this quality-a special something that makes you feel like taking on the horizon in whatever fashion fits. “To get to know yourself, you’ve gotta run away,” they sing on Walls, the new single from their new album, Work. And it does-with a kind of quiet burn that gets under your skin and stays there. It’s not a dramatic departure from their old sound, but it is fresh-a resurgence of something that always felt good.
