The thought of leaving the rat race behind and becoming an artist is a dream for many, but a reality for few. Montrealer Jason Ray, a promising new R&B singer-songwriter, is living that dream. The solo artist quit his day job in finance a few years back to pursue a full-time career in music, and it’s clear that the gamble’s paying off. Jason Ray will launch “Love on the Line,” his debut full-length album, with a concert at Theatre Plaza this Saturday, April 10th.
Jason has collaborated with Canadian R&B artist Karl Wolf, and is now focused on making it big on the international R&B scene. He describes his music as “categorically R&B pop, potentially a mainstream relish served up with a healthy dose of synth fizz, splattered bass and tub drizzle.” Jason’s song “Passing Through” was recently recognized by the prestigious John Lennon Songwriting Competition in the R&B category. Catch him this weekend, and say you knew him when!
8pm (Doors open at 7:30pm) @ Theatre Plaza – 6505 St Hubert.
